Diwali
Diwali is usually the most eventful celebration every year and this year it wasn't any less. The CNS gala Diwali Celebration was on the evening of 3rd Nov at the Sringeri Vidhya Bharathi Foundation Hall, Etobicoke. Nearly 130 Nagarathars participated and made the celebration enjoyable.

Summer Picnic
Pothu Padaippu
The annual CNS Pothu Padaippu was held at Subi and Aruna's residence in Mississauga on 13th July 2019. This was the 7th year of CNS Pothu Padaippu.
The Nagarathar Padaippu is an important and integral part of our tradition that has been practiced by our forefathers for generations. This is a Pothu Padaippu, meaning, one for all Nagarathars from different families, villages and temples. In Canada, this event has one family as a main sponsor and the rest of the families pitch in and support. The main sponsorship is done by rotation from year to year on a voluntary basis.

May's bhajan was hosted by Alamelu & Nagarajan.
Mother's Day
Thank you all for attending the Mother's Day function on the 11th of May, at the SVBF hall in Etobicoke.
I'm sure all the moms felt a little more appreciated on this day!
It was nice to see over 100 people attend this event.
To start the evening, Kannan Muthiah received a special award for his work with the committee. Please see the 1st edition of Vaanga Pazhagalaam magazine.
Afterwards, several new families to the group came up to introduce themselves.
After this, a fun game was conducted where the audience had to guess the mom from her "baby picture".
Following that, while the moms were busy playing a Pictionary game, the kids along with the dads, made some crowns. I wonder who they were for?
The crowns indeed were for their moms! While wearing a "best mom" sash and crown, each kid and mom walked down the runway!
Finally, we all had a nice dinner. Thanks to all for your contribution.

சித்திரை பிறக்காதோ கத்திரி வெயில் போடாதோ என காத்துக் கிடந்த கனடா வாழ் நகரத்தார்களாகிய எங்களுக்கு, சித்திரைக் கொண்டாட்டத்திற்குக் குறைதான் என்ன!
விழா என்னவோ ஏப்ரல் இருபதாம் தேதி தான். ஆனால் ஒரு மாதத்திற்கு முன்பே ஒத்திகை, பயிற்சி என ஆராவாரம் தொடங்கிவிட்டது.

௧னடா குடும்ப தினத்தில் கூடிய நகரத்தார்.
பிப்ரவரி மாதம் 3ம் திங்கள் கனடாவின் குடும்ப தினம். கடல் கடந்து வாழும் நம் டொரொண்டோ நகரத்தார்கள் சேர்ந்து கொண்டாடும் தினம் இது. இம்முறை குடும்ப தினத்திற்காக நாங்கள் கூடியது பிப்ரவரி 17ம் தேதி.

டொரொண்டோ வாழ் நகரதார்களாகிய நாங்கள் வேலோடும், மயிலோடும் மற்றும் அழகன் முருகனோடும் ஓன்று கூடி எங்கள் முதல் குழுமத்தை தொடங்குவது வழக்கம். இந்த வருடமும் (2019) தை மாதம் தொடங்கும் முன், மார்கழி இறுதி வார ஞாயிறன்று "Hindu Temple, Richmond Hill" லில் கூடினோம்.
